About this site
Hi, I’m Dan Everitt 👋
By day, I work with Commvault backup solutions. By night, or whenever I can find some spare time, I’m usually tinkering with something in the homelab, tweaking Home Assistant, or finding another reason to change something that was already working perfectly well.
This blog is somewhere for me to document the things I discover along the way. That might be a useful Commvault tip, something I’ve learnt while messing around with Proxmox, a Home Assistant project, or simply something I want to be able to find again six months later.
I’m into:
- 🔥 BBQ! cooking it, eating it, and probably spending far too long thinking about it
- 🏠 Home Assistant and home automation
- 🖥️ Proxmox, homelabbing and self-hosting
- 💾 Commvault and all things backup
- ✈️ Travel and exploring new places
- 👨👦👦 Spending time with my two boys
Professionally, a lot of my time is spent working with Commvault backup solutions, so I’ll occasionally share tips, fixes and other useful things I’ve picked up along the way. Some will be solutions to problems I’ve run into myself; others will simply be things I think are worth documenting.
Away from technology, I’m a dad to two boys and enjoy getting out and exploring somewhere new whenever we get the opportunity. I also enjoy firing up the BBQ, ideally with good food, good weather, and something cold to drink.
There isn’t really one single topic for this blog. Expect a mixture of enterprise IT, homelab tinkering, home automation, travel, BBQ and whatever else catches my interest.
Mostly, it’s a place to document what I’m doing, share what I’ve learnt, and hopefully help someone else along the way.
